Growing up and growing old – two different things, right? Either way, you look at it both are avoidable. But if you do it right, aging can be a positive experience.
The key to doing it right is maintaining good health, a decent diet, a consistent exercise routine – and seeing your chiropractor. Chiropractic care helps you age gracefully and keeps you doing the things you love no matter what age you are.
Just like with any part of the body, if we do not maintain the health of our spine, it will wear down and degenerate. Without regular care, joints can become stiff, inflamed, and painful.
Chiropractic helps to keep the joints mobile and lubricated allowing for easy motion and comfort with activity.
Regular chiropractic care, postural exercises, and staying active help prevent poor posture as we age. Including chiropractic care in your health toolkit is important when you are younger and active. It will keep you active, pain-free, and doing the things you enjoy.
During your prime career years (ages 20-55) be sure your workspace is set up ergonomically correct. This will help prevent poor posture and the speeding up of the degeneration process. It’s important to stay hydrated! It keeps your spine healthy by keeping the discs hydrated and joints lubricated.
For older adults chiropractic care can help increase balance and coordination. This is important to help prevent falls that can lead to broken bones. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, falls are responsible for 90% of the 850,000 bone fractures which occur annually among Americans past the age of 65.
Skipping the chiropractor can lead to joint pain, decreased flexibility, arthritis, and degeneration of the spine.
Chiropractic keeps the spine moving, the joints lubricated, and the nervous system healthy. It keeps your body functioning at its best no matter where you are in the aging process.
